About this role:
This position will support women and children who are escaping domestic or family violence in an empathetic, timely and effective manner.
Duties will include taking care of the children whilst mothers are at appointments, educating children through play, networking with other agencies to provide a holistic array of options to mothers and children needs and orientating children to the premises and surrounds.
Although experience is preferred, no formal qualifications are required for this position as training and mentoring are provided.
Hours: 20 hours per week - Monday to Friday, some on-call and relief support work as required
Tasks and responsibilities:
Support clients with a person centered approach
Provide services with empathy and compassion
Effective communication in the workplace
Positive work ethic and commitment to the organisation
Complete clear documentation, case management and case note writing
Work across other Family & Domestic Violence areas
Skills and experience:
Certificate III in community services (or willing to obtain) or relevant experience in the industry.
Knowledge of Family & Domestic Violence and the impacts and effects on victim survivors.
Computer literacy skills
Knowledge of Wheatbelt towns (travel is required)
Drivers license and Working with children check
