The Opportunity

Our client, a leading supplier, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join the team at their Timber Assembly Facility in Morwell, VIC.

As part of a newly established site, you will play a key role of this Timber Assembly facility and ensure smooth operations of the assembly line.

This is a casual role upon commencement and is offering a permanent position for the right candidate.

Commencement Date : Immediately

Monday to Friday

7am to 3pm - (extra hours may be available)

$56.25

Weekly Competitive Remuneration

Key Responsibilities

Perform mechanical fitting tasks such as assembling, installing, maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment

Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams and specifications to complete work orders accurately

Dismantle, repair and reassemble mechanical components and systems

Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment is operating efficiently

Identify and report any issues or faults to management

Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and to a high standard

Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures

What We're Looking For

Formal qualification in mechanical engineering or a relevant trade

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably in a timber or manufacturing environment

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Forklift licence and current driver's licence preferred
