Procurement Manager

The Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) is one of Western Australia’s largest waste management authorities assisting its member councils, mainly situated in Perth’s northern corridor. To manage their municipal solid waste for a combined population of about 800,000.

The Role, MRC is strategically positioning itself as a sustainable regional local authority that is recognised for leadership, innovation and excellence. This role manages the MRC’s procurement management framework, supports the delivery of strategic projects and procures a range of contracts to facilitate the development of new projects as approved by the MRC Council.

The Procurement Manager report to the Executive Manager Corporate Services, accountable for the delivery of procurement activities in accordance with council policies and local government regulations.

The Salary, $127k to $145k, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant plus workplace agreement benefits that include:

Full time, 76 hours per fortnight

Selection Criteria:

Qualifications

· Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Procurement, Contract Management or similar discipline.

Essential requirements:

· Sound leadership skills and the ability provide clear directions and appropriate feedback to employees as required.

· Extensive knowledge of procurement processes and compliance.

· High level written and oral communications skills.

· Extensive experience in the development of contracts.

· Demonstrated ability to plan, analyse and interpret data

· Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads within tight timelines.

· Demonstrated commitment and ability to achieve delivery of required outcomes.

· Knowledge of government procurement processes (desirable)

· Knowledge of the waste industry (desirable)

The Council maintains a strong Wellness Policy with all staff subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
