The Housekeeping Manager / Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting cleaning operations across a portfolio of sites, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, efficient accommodation turnarounds, and consistent service delivery. This role combines hands-on cleaning duties with regular site inspections and team supervision, requiring a proactive leader who can work across multiple locations, engage and direct cleaning staff, and uphold Realcorp’s standards of operational excellence and client satisfaction. Travel between various locations will be required to oversee and assist with daily cleaning operations (a valid driver's licence and own vehicle are essential).
Note, this opportunity is an initial 3-month fixed term contract, with a view to move to permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties:
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing areas as required.
Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to a high standard in a timely manner.
Handle and maintain cleaning equipment and materials responsibly.
Logging completed units and progress against targets in real-time, during accommodation turnarounds.
Quality Control:
Conduct weekly inspections to ensure cleaning standards are maintained.
Follow up on issues identified during inspections to ensure they are addressed.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and regulations.
During accommodation turnarounds, ensure cleaners’ rooms are compliant with equipment storage, cleanliness and SDS sheet visibility.
Team Management
Manage cleaners for own portfolio, including:
Onboarding, training, and induction of new staff
Providing ongoing support, engagement, and morale building
Ensuring uniform and personal presentation compliance
Managing HR escalations and performance issues
Accommodation Turnaround
Coordinate and manage accommodation turnovers, ensuring rooms are cleaned, prepared, and inspected within established deadlines.
Liaise with Operations team to ensure schedules consistently meet operational requirements.
New Staff Onboarding
Oversee trial shifts for new staff, ensuring fit for the role and service standards are met
Train and support new cleaning staff
Key Relationships
Cleaners and Specialist Cleaning Team
Clients including Building Managers, Owners Corporations, Office Managers, Facilities Managers
Internal Management Team
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Tailored individual KPI’s are set annually but broadly:
Client satisfaction and retention
Timely response and resolution of client issues
Compliance with inspection schedules and service standards
Staff retention, engagement, and performance
Compliance with accommodation turnaround schedules and service standards
