The Business

The Traditional Owners of the Warddeken Indigenous Protected Area formed Warddeken Land Management Ltd. in 2007. Warddeken is an Aboriginal owned, not-for-profit company that combines traditional ecological knowledge with Western science to manage and protect one of Australia’s most unique environments.

Operating from remote homeland communities in west Arnhem Land, we provide employment for hundreds of Indigenous people who engage in vital projects, including fire management, carbon abatement, weed and feral animal control, rock art and ecological conservation, and cultural heritage management.

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to take on a senior leadership role with real purpose and impact. As Ranger Teams Manager, you’ll lead and support the coordinators managing three remote ranger bases across the Warddeken Indigenous Protected Area, helping to deliver critical cultural and environmental programs.

You’ll use your leadership, people management and cultural capability to build a strong, resilient workforce, working closely with Traditional Owners and program teams.

With a focus on workforce development, team wellbeing and cultural connection, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of ranger work in west Arnhem Land.

If you’re a strong collaborator who thrives in complex, people-centred environments — and you’re ready to work where it matters — this role offers challenge, meaning, and the chance to be part of something bigger.

The location is Darwin, NT with extensive travel to Warddeken IPA .
