Ohana College is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Care Coordinator to join our team. Based in Meadowbrook, Queensland, this crucial role will be responsible for providing compassionate support and guidance to our diverse student community. As the Pastoral Care Coordinator, you will be an integral part of our mission to nurture the academic, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our students.
The position is located at Ohana College in Meadowbrook, QLD, and is offered as a permanent part-time, term-time role, working from 7:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing comprehensive pastoral care programs to address the holistic needs of our students
Providing one-on-one counselling and mentoring to students, offering a listening ear and helping them navigate personal and academic challenges
Collaborating with teaching staff, parents and external support services to ensure a coordinated approach to student wellbeing
Organising and facilitating group workshops and activities that promote resilience, positive mental health and community engagement
Maintaining detailed records and reporting on student progress to key stakeholders
Upholding the college's values and ethos, and being a positive role model for our students
Mandatory Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or a related field
Minimum 3 years' experience working in a pastoral care or student wellbeing role within an educational setting
Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with young people and provide empathetic, non-judgmental support
Strong knowledge of youth mental health issues, and the skills to identify and respond to student needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to liaise effectively with students, parents and staff
Commitment to upholding confidentiality and professional boundaries
Working with Children Check and QLD Driver's Licence
