About the Role

This leadership position is ideal for someone with strong landscape construction experience and the confidence to manage small on-site teams. You will oversee daily operations, mentor junior staff, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality residential garden projects. The role blends planning, coordination, and hands-on work with tools and materials. There's also a clear pathway to progress into quoting, client liaison, and staff development responsibilities.

About the Work

Our client specialises in designing and constructing small residential gardens, with most projects located throughout Sydney's Inner West. Services offered include:

• Paving
• Timber and stone work
• Decking and block construction
• Irrigation and drainage
• Planting, turfing, and other softscape installations

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a small on-site team, including apprentices and labourers
• Plan and coordinate daily site tasks to ensure efficient project delivery
• Interpret and work from detailed landscape plans and specifications
• Operate a wide range of landscaping tools and machinery safely and effectively
• Organise supplies, manage deliveries, and liaise with suppliers as required
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, team members, and subcontractors
• Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with all OHS regulations

Requirements

• Must have a Certificate in landscape construction
• Proven experience as a Leading Hand or in a similar supervisory role
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans
• Solid understanding of construction methods, standards, and safety regulations
• Current driver's licence
• Hold a white card
• Full Australian working rights
