About the Role:
A warm and welcoming family based in Tamarama is seeking a trustworthy, nurturing, and highly organised Full-Time Nanny / Housekeeper / Family Assistant to support their busy household. This dynamic position is ideal for someone who is equally confident caring for school-aged children as they are managing daily household tasks and providing personal assistance to the parents.
The role centres around providing high-quality care for two bright and active children aged 10 and 6, while ensuring the home is clean, well-organised, and running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and genuinely enjoy engaging with children and supporting a family in their day-to-day lives.
This is a long-term, permanent position requiring up to 40 hours per week, being on call and with flexibility around start and finish times, as well as occasional evening or weekend support when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare Duties:
Provide attentive, nurturing, and safe care for two children (ages 10 and 6).
Oversee daily routines including school drop-offs/pick-ups, after-school activities, homework support, and bedtime routines.
Plan and engage in age-appropriate, stimulating activities—both educational and recreational.
Prepare healthy meals and snacks tailored to the children's dietary needs and preferences.
Monitor and manage any allergies or medical needs with care and attention.
Housekeeping & Household Support:
Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming household environment through regular housekeeping (laundry, cleaning, tidying, organisation).
Assist with family meal preparation, grocery shopping, and basic cooking tasks.
Keep shared areas and children’s spaces tidy and well-stocked.
Personal & Family Assistance:
Support the parents with light administrative tasks, such as managing the family calendar, booking appointments, and running errands.
Maintain open, respectful, and regular communication with the parents about the children’s needs, development, and schedules.
Provide flexibility to adapt to changes in routine, including occasional evening babysitting or support on weekends when required.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a similar nanny/housekeeper/assistant role.
Demonstrated experience with school-aged children and a strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate care.
Comfortable balancing childcare responsibilities with household management duties.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy family setting.
Confident driver with a valid driver’s licence and own car preferred
Up-to-date First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
High level of discretion, reliability, and professionalism.
Warm, positive, and engaging personality with excellent communication skills.
Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the family’s needs.
