We’re looking for a Professional Assistant to support the Dean of Learning. An individual who offers more than just strong organisational skills and professionalism. This role calls for a dedicated individual with genuine enthusiasm, a team player attitude, and an unwavering drive for excellence in every aspect of their work.
This role is ideal if you would like to work 41 weeks per year, five days 7.30 – 3.30pm.
Your role
You will work in a values-driven education environment where your contributions are appreciated, and your team player attitude supports delivering excellence to both internal and external customers.
This position is ideal for someone who excels in a dynamic setting, enjoys tackling challenges, and takes satisfaction in ensuring everything operates smoothly. Your ability to treat sensitive information with a high level of discretion is paramount.
As the Professional Assistant to the Dean of Learning, your role will involve managing the following tasks:
- Scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and relevant materials, booking rooms, taking minutes and following up action points
- Exceptional communication skills corresponding with students and parents
- Utilising your advanced MS Suite skills to create presentations, format letters, create reports and support ad hoc administration duties
- High attention to detail maintaining records and compiling reports via QCAA portal
- Coordinating events such as learning celebrations, academic award nights etc
- Thriving in peak periods during exam time when it is all hands-on deck to deliver
- Supporting various student queries when you cover front desk, ranging from subject change requests to supporting with basic first aid
- Excelling in a team environment, collaborating to deliver department goals

Your ability to anticipate needs and conduct everything with a professional, team player attitude will see your success in this diverse and challenging role. With a proven track record providing executive support in a fast-paced environment, your exceptional organisation and computer skills will see you thrive in this position. Additional desirable skills and qualities are as follows.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritise effectively in a demanding role
- A business/administration qualification (desirable)
- A current Blue Card or eligibility to obtain one
- A solid understanding of school operations and systems (TASS & QCAA)
