Make a Real Impact at Mind Ready
Are you passionate about supporting people to overcome complex life challenges and take positive steps forward? Mind Ready is looking for a committed Social Worker to join our team and work alongside individuals who are navigating personal and systemic barriers to employment and wellbeing.
About Mind Ready
Mind Ready is a specialised social work service that supports unemployed individuals facing a range of challenges; from mental health concerns and financial stress to addiction, housing insecurity, and family or domestic violence.
We take a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to practice. By completing individualised psychosocial assessments and developing tailored action plans, we help clients build resilience and move toward long-term stability and sustainable employment.
Mind Ready works closely with employment services, health providers, and community partners to deliver wraparound support. We advocate for equitable access to services and contribute to long-term systems change by addressing the root causes of unemployment and social disadvantage.
About the Role
As a Social Worker at Mind Ready, you will:
Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to understand each client’s needs, strengths, and goals.
Develop and implement personalised action plans that address barriers to employment and support broader wellbeing.
Provide ongoing support, advocacy, and referrals to relevant services.
Work collaboratively with employment agencies, community organisations, and health providers to ensure coordinated support.
Maintain accurate case notes and reports in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
Apply culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based practices.
About You
We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced professional who can demonstrate:
A tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Experience in mental health, drug and alcohol services, and/or family and domestic violence.
Strong skills in conducting psychosocial assessments and delivering client-centered, strengths-based interventions.
An understanding of the systemic barriers impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and a commitment to culturally safe practice.
The ability to engage with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.
Confidence in working both independently and within a team.
A commitment to ethical, reflective, and professional practice.
What We Offer
A competitive total renumeration package starting at $102,000.
A supportive and values-driven work environment.
Ongoing professional development and supervision opportunities.
A meaningful role where your work contributes to long-term change in people’s lives.
