An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Surgical) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Demonstrate strong leadership skills within the specialty area
• Utilise advanced/expert knowledge and skill to analyse situations and outcomes
• Mentor and support nursing staff at all levels
• Optimise patient care/patient outcomes by coordinating the multidisciplinary plan of care for patients.

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

• Permanent part time
• Base salary ranging from $54.44 - $58.30 per hour

Robina Surgical Inpatient Unit provides high quality care for a range of general surgical patients. The holistic care of all clients requires the contribution of services from a broad range of health care professionals. The delivery of Surgical Services is underpinned by Gold Coast Health's Core Values and is in line with meeting Queensland Health's strategic priorities.

The Surgical Services offered at Robina Surgical Unit include Colorectal Surgery: Carcinoma of the colon, haemorrhoids and other anal disease, pilonidal sinus, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy: Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy, General surgery: Gall Bladder and Hernia Surgery, Appendectomy, benign thyroid disease, Breast surgery: Benign and malignant, Gynaecology, Urogynaecology, Plastics and Skin cancer surgery, breast reconstruction.
