Role Overview:

Who we are:

we are a large scale organic egg farming operation in Beauchamp, 28km from Kerang. Located on a 135Ha property, the farm is looking for the services of a farm maintenance hand to work closely with the management team and staff to improve the farm’s overall reliability and functions.

The principle tasks are to assist the farm manager with maintenance of a wide range of systems and equipment on the farm, and in time take on some responsibility for flock management and staff supervision.

Support the Farm Manager with daily farm maintenance operations.

Repair and maintain farm power equipment (small engine experience preferred)

Repair, maintain and construct farm fencing and gates

Familiar with spraying for weed control

Operate utility tractors for tasks such as road maintenance, minor field maintenance, slashing.

Repair and maintain poultry farm equipment such as feeders, drinking water systems, nesting and egg collection systems

Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks

General farm hand abilities.

An interest in animal husbandry, especially experience with Poultry, will be highly regarded.

Requirements:

Responsible, hands-on, and willing to learn

Familiarity with agricultural practices and biosecurity

Good English communication skills(spoken/written)

Experienced with general farm maintenance tasks

Forklift licence

Must have own transport
