Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy team at Northern Health.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

The Grade 3 leave relief Physiotherapist has responsibility for the organisation, implementation and supervision of physiotherapy services, and will provide leadership and ensure high level, evidence based physiotherapy care across services at Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre and Kilmore District Hospital. Through their clinical expertise they will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in clinical care, promotion of quality, education of staff and students and team and program development. As this is a leave reliever role, the caseload for this position will be a mix of neurological, musculoskeletal and/or gerontology depending on area of cover. The role may provide therapy in a ward environment, centre and home community based setting (inclusive of aquatic therapy and group therapy).

This role is ongoing part time position at 71 hours per fortnight.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience managing patients within the subacute and community settings (including home visits)
  • A background which includes experience and skills in neurological, musculoskeletal and/or gerontology physiotherapy
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care
  • Demonstrated sound clinical skills based on practice wisdom
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and promote evidence based practice
  • Possesses practical negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Experienced in supervision of junior physiotherapy staff and/or Allied Health Assistants
  • Experienced in the management and education of undergraduate physiotherapy students
  • Demonstrated leadership within a multidisciplinary team and promotion of interprofessional practice
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to change
