Our client is an established mining company with a strong operational presence in Australia and internationally. We are currently hiring multiple roles across their finance department, including the position of Senior FP&A Analyst

Job Title: Senior FP&A Analyst
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Work Flexibility: Flexible working hours
Salary: $140,000 - $180,000 + Discretionary Annual Bonus

Key Responsibilities

1. Group Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting

• Support the Group’s enterprise-wide annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting programs.
• Consolidate and validate financial inputs across mine sites, departments, and corporate functions.
• Maintain rolling forecast models, incorporating operational drivers and market trends to enhance strategic visibility.

2. Financial Performance and KPI Reporting

• Develop and maintain executive dashboards and variance reports to monitor financial and operational performance.
• Analyse trends and deviations, delivering clear commentary and insights to senior finance leadership.
• Contribute to a culture of financial accountability by supporting business units in understanding and improving their results.

3. Financial Modelling and Commercial Evaluation

• Construct robust, scenario-based financial models to support investment evaluation, strategic initiatives, and cost optimisation efforts.
• Assist in the analysis of capital projects, operating strategies, and business cases across the Group.
• Support the GM Finance and CFO with complex financial modelling and decision-support tools.

4. Executive-Level Reporting and Insight Generation

• Prepare executive briefing packs, board presentations, and management reports with precision and clarity.
• Translate financial data into actionable insights aligned with organisational priorities and stakeholder expectations.
• Support shareholder and parent company reporting obligations by contributing forward-looking financial inputs and analysis.

5. Systems Integration and Process Optimisation

• Utilise ERP and BI platforms to drive process efficiency, accuracy, and automation within the FP&A function.
• Collaborate with Finance Systems and IT teams to ensure financial systems meet the evolving needs of the business.
• Identify opportunities to streamline recurring reporting tasks and enhance data integrity.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration and Commercial Partnership

• Act as a trusted finance partner to internal stakeholders, including operations, corporate functions, and executive leadership.
• Engage with teams such as Tax, Treasury, Site Finance, and Commercial to ensure alignment in planning and reporting.
• Provide analytical support to facilitate informed, commercially sound decision-making across the organisation.

7. Process Governance and Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the documentation and standardisation of FP&A processes, templates, and methodologies.
• Assist in maintaining the Group’s FP&A calendar and governance protocols.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting cadence, cost-efficiency, and planning discipline.

Key Requirments:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), commercial finance, or strategic business partnering roles.
• CPA or CA qualification (mandatory)
• Demonstrated proficiency in Excel-based financial modelling and analysis.
• Proven ability to consolidate, interpret, and communicate complex financial data for executive audiences.
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. Pronto, SAP, Oracle) and business intelligence (BI) or reporting tools.

Desirable:

• Prior experience in the mining, resources, or capital-intensive industrial sectors.
• Exposure to multi-entity financial planning and consolidated group reporting.
• Understanding of international financial reporting frameworks and multi-jurisdictional operations.
• Familiarity with shareholder reporting and integration into parent company structures.
