Our client, operating in a prestigious industry, is seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to join its Asia Pacific team. This standalone, part-time (0.6 / 0.7 / 0.8) role is based at the company's South Sydney headquarters and supports a diverse, geographically dispersed workforce.
The HR department was formally established 3 years ago, so this is an opportunity to pick up a clean, well-structured department and put your own stamp on it. The BAU wok fluctuates but there is always time for ongoing HR projects, so the role suits someone creative and proactive.
This is a critical operational role responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle while providing strategic HR input to the leadership team. The role requires someone with exceptional interpersonal skills who can thrive in an SME environment with a diverse workforce in multiple locations across Asia Pacific.
Key Responsibilities
Provide both day-to-day HR support and strategic guidance to employees and managers across the Asia Pacific region.
Manage the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
Partner closely with a payroll officer to verify payroll accuracy (no processing responsibility)
Oversee internal training programs and inductions; opportunity to contribute to executive coaching and leadership development if experienced.
Maintain and optimise the HRIS and ensure accurate and compliant HR data and records.
Prepare employment contracts and manage all relevant documentation and HR compliance.
Implement employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives that reflect the company's values and support a high-performance culture.
Serve as the primary HR contact for staff across Australia (majority), New Zealand, and Southeast Asia
Liaise with external advisors and regulatory bodies when necessary.
Work collaboratively with the leadership team to contribute to workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management efforts.
Candidate Profile
Proven HR experience in a senior or standalone role, ideally within a fast-paced and service-oriented environment.
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation.
Experience of working with other countries such as New Zealand, Singapore & Hong Kong (desirable)
Skilled in balancing strategic priorities with hands-on operational responsibilities.
Proficient in using HRIS platforms and producing accurate HR reports.
Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with a pragmatic and solution-focused mindset.
A proactive approach with an ability to manage HR Projects
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant subject e.g. HR, Business or Psychology
