Inhouse Consulting Engineers provides specialised forensic and remedial investigations on building defects and remedial work specifications and reporting servicing the government sector, community housing providers and the strata and insurance industries.

We are seeking a diligent Senior Remedial Engineer to work with our our experienced team of engineers and in our newly refurbished office in Parramatta.

The ideal candidate will have sound technical knowledge in Australian building standards and experience in undertaking forensic inspections and preparing detailed investigation reports that are relied upon for their accuracy and well-articulated conclusions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Carry out investigations on structural problems in buildings and civil infrastructure and prepare expert reports detailing defects, risks, causes of failure with a scope of remedial works and costings.

Provide expert witness reports and evidence in NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) .

Carry out site inspections and provide technical advice to clients and staff including scope of works for remedial repairs

Assisting with the preparation of fee proposals, methodologies and tender documentation

Applying current Australian Design Codes, NCC, and structural design principles

Minimum requirements:

A Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

5 + years' relevant Australian experience involving forensic investigation and reporting on a range of building defects and structural damages

Sound knowledge of design methods of slabs, footings and framing, retaining walls, drainage pits and culverts and swimming pools using concrete, stone, steel, timber, and masonry as well as cold-formed and light gauge steel elements.

Knowledge of Australian construction practices and materials

Ability to prepare accurate, legible, written calculations and computer analysis using TEDDS and Excel spreadsheet templates, then preparing sketches by hand and with Bluebeam

OH&S Induction Training for Construction Work (White Card)

Excellent written and spoken technical English and report writing

Current NSW Drivers Licence

Have unrestricted Australian work rights
