About Lifestart

At Lifestart, we believe in Empowering Potential. Our purpose is to empower children and young people with disability or developmental concerns to reach their full potential, in partnership with their families and communities. Guided by our core values of Empowerment, Equity, Collaboration, and Impact – we're committed to making a meaningful difference in their lives.

Our Therapy and Behaviour Support team partners with families to provide tailored therapy supports, helping children and young people achieve their goals and thrive in their communities. We are a dedicated group of allied health and behaviour support professionals driven by making a lasting impact.

About the Role

We are looking for Behaviour Support Practitioners who have been assessed as Core, Proficient or Advanced level to join our Therapy and Behaviour Support Team in Western Sydney, office located in Baulkham Hills. This role will support children and young people living around the Blacktown LGA.

At Lifestart, we provide Positive Behaviour Support using a capacity-building model. Our practitioners work alongside children and young people with disability, their families, and support networks across all the environments they access including homes, early childhood settings, schools and communities to make meaningful and lasting change.

This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time opportunities available (minimum 3 days per week). Lifestart operates Monday to Friday, and it is highly desirable if you are available to work until 6pm.

Responsibilities:

Engage in collaborative goal setting with families and complete Functional Behaviour Assessments to identify areas of need and support the development of practical evidence-based support strategies.

Develop person centred Behaviour Support Plans that uphold the rights of people with disability, improve quality of life and reduce the use of restrictive practices.

Work with a varied caseload alongside a team of experienced allied health professionals including speech pathologists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.

Build the capacity and confidence of families, teachers and support workers to implement positive and proactive strategies and skill building programs through direct coaching and mentoring support.

Continue to develop your expertise through high levels of supervision and support to progress through the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework practitioner levels.
