The Opportunity

Are you an experienced strategic leader with a commitment to sustainable development and ready to drive long-term planning outcomes?

In this role, you will lead the development of strategic plans and evidence-based studies in close collaboration with internal teams, the community, and both government and non-government partners. Leading the Strategic Outcomes team your work will focus on

Ensuring planning processes are inclusive, well-managed, and guided by stakeholder engagement

Applying a structured place-based approach to deliver integrated, forward-thinking outcomes

Essential Criteria

Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning or a related aligned discipline

A sound understanding of the key issues and emerging trends relevant to the economic, environmental and social dynamics of a Regional area and in a local government

Highly developed leadership skills

Demonstrated experience in working within a political environment and achieving results through being sensitive to context and multiple stakeholders

Advanced conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent written skills (report and policy)

Extensive experience in complex organisational environments including responsibility for planning and policy development; local government in a leadership capacity and strategic urban planning

Excellent negotiation skills and political nous
