About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced dental assistant to join our friendly team at The Northside Dentist in Thornbury. This is a part-time or casual position, working 5 days a fortnight — 2 days one week, 3 days the next. It’s a great setup if you’re studying, have family commitments, or are simply after a bit of extra work. Experience is preferred both in dental assisting, and basic reception admin.

Our clinic is a calm, welcoming space — for both our patients and our team. You'll be supported with ongoing training and encouraged to grow your skills as part of a collaborative and caring environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Getting treatment rooms ready and making sure instruments are sterilised

Assisting our dentists during procedures with instruments and materials

Keeping treatment rooms stocked and organised

Helping manage appointment scheduling and patient flow

Answering patient questions and providing great service

Keeping clear and accurate patient records

Pitching in with admin tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Dental Assistant, ideally in a dental practice

Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude

Attention to detail and the ability to stay on top of things in a busy setting

Comfortable using dental software and tech

A genuine interest in helping people and supporting patient care

A dental assisting qualification is a bonus, but not essential
