We are seeking a committed, organised and self-motivated Nurseryperson to join us at our production and propagation nursery in Mariginiup.

Pinelake Nursery (Nursery Australia Pty Ltd) supports our retail garden centre network and supplies exceptional plants to landscapers, retailers, and commercial organisations across Perth.

This is a spectacular opportunity to join our team during a period of immense growth and during an exciting time in the industry. We are seeking a full-time Nurseryperson, ideally with experience in production horticulture.

Tasks:

• Assist in monitoring and managing nursery plants towards production

• Maintain plants, including weeding, pruning, watering, and fertilisation

• Conduct soil testing and fumigation to ensure consistent growth of plants

• Propagating plants using a range of techniques and production methods

• Manage plant nutrition and watering requirements

• Advise on the identification of pests and diseases and on regulations regarding the quality grading and dispatching of products

• Prepare and apply chemicals for pest and disease control

• Audit/monitor quality procedures at nurseries and processing facilities to ensure compliance with required standards, including ISO quality management systems

• Manage, install and operate drainage systems

• Follow safety policies and procedures and maintain safety standards

• Participate in programs and assessments to improve health and safety in the workplace

• Liaise with the Nursery Manager as and when required

• Perform other duties as reasonably directed by management.

Qualifications and experience required:

• Formal trade qualification in Horticulture, Production, Agriculture or a related field is required

• Three years relevant experience in a production or agricultural role

• Be willing to work full-time hours

• Great work ethic, reliable, punctual, proactive and ability to work independently

• Good communication skills

• Prepared to work in different weather conditions.
