A highly regarded, independently owned wealth advisory firm based in Sydney’s CBD is seeking a driven and capable Head of Business Operations to join their leadership team.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Directors, you’ll lead day-to-day operations across the firm—spanning finance, compliance, HR, IT, and client administration. You’ll manage a team of 7 direct reports and play a key role in building out the firm’s infrastructure, systems, and team as the business continues to grow.

This role suits someone who enjoys both strategic input and hands-on execution, with the autonomy to influence business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee internal operations across finance, compliance, people, and client services

Lead AFSL and MDA compliance, risk reporting, audits, and governance frameworks

Manage HR lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, contracts

Maintain strong financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting

Support adviser transitions, client administration, and service delivery

Coordinate IT vendors, internal systems, marketing, and office operations

Play a key role in acquisition integration and future growth planning

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in a similar operations, general management, or practice leadership role

Strong understanding of AFSL compliance, financial controls, and HR best practices

Confident team leader with the ability to manage a growing operations team

A self-starter who enjoys building systems and improving efficiency

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, can-do approach
