ABOUT THIS ROLE
Working within our Tax Advisory Team, your primary responsibilities will include preparing tax documentation and interpreting complex tax regulations. You'll have the chance to grow your expertise in tax advisory, guided by the Senior Manager and closely collaborating with both the Partner and the rest of the Tax Advisory team.
Day to day, your role will involve:
Technical Skills and Problem Solving:
Ability to comprehend and execute briefs/instructions, analyse and apply tax laws, cases, rulings, and other materials, and handling complex issues.
Compliance:
Independently handle the preparation of tax provisions, tax return working papers, and client queries for various entities.
Demonstrate understanding of tax return disclosure requirements, accurately completing complex tax return schedules, and autonomously communicating with clients regarding tax issues and compliance matters.
Advisory:
Effective drafting skills for internal tax documentation, formal written tax advice, and other requests to the ATO, along with the ability to apply commercial and tax technical considerations to develop practical solutions, while also exhibiting a strong capacity to construct compelling and coherent technical arguments and opinions.
Training:
Engage in technical training preparation and sessions with effective communication and presentation skills.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for highly motivated individual who thrives when presented with more complex work. In this role you need outstanding communication skills, a strong sense of initiative and exceptional attention to detail.
Eligibility to enrol in or already studying towards completion of CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent).
Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or similar field).
1-4 years broad Australian tax experience e.g. income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax.
Strong technical knowledge.
