We are seeking a seasoned building maintenance supervisor to join our Facilities Management team supporting 4 major hospital sites within North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS).

This vacancy is for Permanent Full-Time appointment at 76 hours per fortnight. Fixed Term appointment may be available to suit individual circumstances and will include the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

What is our Supervisor Handyperson role?

The handyperson team at NMHS is responsible for carrying out all non-trade works and maintenance for all building services, facilities, plant and equipment across the numerous NMHS sites, providing support for Building Services and Engineering Services teams, and assisting the Facilities department with building and refurbishment projects.

The Supervisor Handyperson coordinates and directs the daily activities of this team, providing an efficient and cost-effective system for non-trade works and maintenance on the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre, Graylands Hospital, King Edward Memorial Hospital and Graylands Hospital sites - North Metropolitan Health Service - Hospitals.

  • Team supervision in a facilities management or workshop type environment
  • Leading building maintenance and inspection programs in large, complex facilities, including your understanding of a wide range of trade-based skills.

  • References - the names and contact details of two (2) referees. It is preferable for one of your referees to have been a recent supervisor.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
