Chef – Full-Time (Breakfast & Brunch Focus)

📍 Footscray, VIC | 🕒 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Rotating Roster | 38 hours/week

We’re searching for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our vibrant team in a fast-paced café environment. If you love the rhythm of breakfast and brunch service, have a strong work ethic, and bring a sharp eye for detail—we’d love to hear from you.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone ready to lead and inspire a small team, contribute creatively, and deliver consistently high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead: Manage all aspects of kitchen operations while training, empowering, and supporting a small team of dedicated chefs.

Service Management: Oversee breakfast service, ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality delivery.

Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of brunch dishes with attention to consistency, presentation, and flavour.

Cuisine Focus: A refined palate and expertise in Indonesian, Filipino, and/or Sri Lankan cuisine is highly regarded.

Kitchen Operations: Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen in line with all health and hygiene standards.

Stock Control: Assist in inventory management, ordering, and stocktaking of kitchen supplies.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen and FOH staff to ensure smooth communication and workflow during service.

Position Details

Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours/week)

Working Days: Open 7 days (rotating roster)

Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Monday to Sunday)

Requirements

Certificate III or IV in Hospitality / Commercial Cookery

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a chef, ideally in modern Australian cuisine

Ability to work across a rotating 7-day roster

Early/quick start availability preferred

Must be able to work independently, efficiently, and under pressure
