We are seeking a passionate and creative Disability Support Worker to join our team, offering person-centered support to individuals living with disabilities.
The ideal candidate will not only be compassionate and dedicated but also possess the ability to think outside the box and use creativity to enhance the lives of those they support, tailoring solutions to empower individuals to confidently navigate life-long learning, life transitions, increasing independence and achieving their goals. The roles involve, engaging individuals in employment readiness, volunteer pathways, work experience, meaningful engagement and skill building.

By joining our Casual pool of Support Workers to deliver NDIS services across the Bendigo region you will help participants to gain independence and confidence in all aspects of their life!
The role has a strong focus (but is not limited to) engaging participants in the Community. Support Workers will engage with participants and support them with their individualised plans and goals.
This may include building connections within the community; assisting the person to attend a community event; identifying job interests, exploring work through supported voluntary work placements and learning to use public transport.
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated experience working with people with a disability either in a professional environment or may be demonstrated through non-professional means or life experience;
- A sound understanding of disability and the effect on social relationships, independent living, daily needs, physical health, vocational and employment needs of these clients;
- Demonstrated experience in supporting participants with their individualised plans and goals with a capacity building focus
- Possess excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, as well as negotiation and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to identify, organise and utilise relevant resources effectively as tools to work with participants;
- Ability to function as a constructive and collaborative member of a small cohesive team;
- Demonstrates qualities of empathy, compassion and integrity;
- Possess a current driver's license and own transport.
The successful candidate will have the legal right to work in Australia and will be required to complete a National Police Clearance Check, Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and NDIS Screening Clearance (Yellow Card) prior to being offered a role with WISE Employment.
