The Role
We’re seeking a talented and motivated Mould Designer to join our team. In this role, you’ll create precise 3D designs for moulds and formliners and program CNC machines to produce them. If you’re passionate about precision, design, and manufacturing, and thrive in a creative and technical environment, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed 3D designs for custom moulds and formliners using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Collaborate with clients and project teams to translate concepts into functional, manufacturable designs.
Program CNC machines to accurately cut and produce moulds, ensuring high precision and quality.
Review and refine designs to optimize for production efficiency and material usage.
Conduct quality checks to ensure designs and finished products meet specifications and industry standards.
Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve design or machining issues.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and CNC technology to enhance design and production processes.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Minimum 3+ years in 3D design and CNC programming, ideally in mould design, formliners, or a related manufacturing field.
Skills:
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar).
Strong experience in CNC programming and operation (e.g., G-code, CAM software like Mastercam or Fusion 360).
Knowledge of precast concrete, formliners, or mould-making is a strong advantage.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Personal Attributes: Creative, proactive, and able to work independently and in a team. Strong communication skills to collaborate with clients and colleagues.
