We are currently recruiting for Development Assessment Officer for our client, a Local Council based in Sydney. This is an initial contract for approximately 6 months with a pay rate of up to $75ph + super (negotiable for the right candidate) for 35 hours per week. WFH for up to 2 days per week is available once settled into the team.

The Development Assessment Planner will include providing accurate information, assessing development proposals, and ensuring the governance and administration of applications meet the required standards

Key Accountabilities:

• Assess less complex residential development applications.
• Review applications under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 against legislation and Council’s requirements
• Review costs of developments and create applications in Property and Rating System

Candidate Requirements:

• 2 years + planning experience in either Local or State Government or consultancy
• Tertiary qualifications or nearing completion in Town Planning, Urban & Regional Planning, or a related field
• Understanding of development assessment processes and the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979
