Maclean Accounting, part of the growing Maclean Group, is an innovative accounting firm based in Mascot, Sydney. We provide proactive, service-first accounting solutions for small to medium commercial businesses across Australia. Our group also offers in-house commercial finance and insurance, enabling us to provide holistic support to our clients.

We are currently looking for a Senior Client Advisor to join our Accounting team. This role is designed for someone experienced, professional, and commercially minded — someone who is passionate about working closely with business owners and supporting their journey through excellent communication, structure, and service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a client-facing role within the accounting department. You won’t be doing tax prep or reconciliations — instead, you’ll manage a portfolio of clients, ensure they’re supported by our accountants, and maintain strong, proactive relationships.

You will:

Be the main relationship manager for a portfolio of commercial accounting clients

Oversee the timely delivery of accounting, compliance, and reporting services (done by our accountants)

Conduct regular check-ins, reviews, and forward-looking discussions with clients

Help clients stay on top of lodgements, deadlines, and planning milestones

Coordinate with internal accountants and other teams (finance, insurance) where needed

Maintain a high standard of communication and professionalism at all times

This is a non-technical role — you don’t need to do the accounting work, but you do need to understand accounting concepts and small business needs.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a polished communicator who understands the value of trust and service. You’re well-organised, structured, and confident, guiding client conversations about their accounting needs.

We’re looking for someone who:

Has 3+ years in a client-facing or relationship management role within an accounting, banking or professional services firm

Understands small business operations and core accounting principles

Has experience communicating with business owners about compliance, reports, and business performance

Can comfortably coordinate deliverables across internal teams

Is commercially minded, with bonus points for exposure to finance or insurance conversations

Wants to be part of a fast-moving, innovative team

WHAT WE OFFER

$100K–$150K base salary + super + commissions

OTE $150K–$200K based on performance
