Lead Software Developer - Technical Leadership - Full Stack - Brisbane - Hybrid - 6 month contract - $900 per day

About the Role:

As a Technical Lead, you’ll bridge the gap between strategic architecture and hands-on development. You’ll lead by example, writing quality code, mentoring developers, and making key technical decisions that shape the future of our client's platform. You'll work closely with the Software Development Manager, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable software aligned with business goals.

• Remove blockers and resolve complex technical challenges

Agile Collaboration

• Work with stakeholders to align technical execution with business needs
• Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies
• Translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Delivery & Risk Management

• Oversee project progress and ensure on-time delivery
• Estimate efforts, manage technical risks, and ensure timely resolution
• Promote continuous integration and delivery best practices

Continuous Improvement

• Drive innovation in tooling, process, and workflow
• Evaluate and improve engineering processes and team performance
• Foster a culture of shared ownership and learning

Your background:

Extensive software development experience and demonstrable experience in a senior developer or tech lead role.
Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, or similar.
Experience working with Ember.js or similar front-end frameworks.
Experience designing and deploying microservices architectures.
Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (preferably GCP).
Deep understanding of web application security, design patterns, and performance optimisation.
Agile leadership experience in a commercial setting.
Experience with NoSQL technologies (e.g., ElasticSearch, Redis).
Containerisation and orchestration in production environments.
