We’re growing — and we’re looking for a hands-on all-rounder to grow with us.
At Safety Xpress, we’re on the lookout for a motivated and reliable Manufacturing & Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Prestons. This is a varied role where you’ll split your time between custom manufacturing and general warehouse duties. If you enjoy working with tools, building and assembling, and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves to help out wherever needed — this could be the role for you.
The Role:
In Manufacturing, you’ll:
Cut stair nosing to size based on customer orders
Assemble trolley bays using BOMs (Bills of Materials)
Use EZY Rail components and other tools to custom-build products
Pack and prepare completed orders for dispatch
Warehouse duties, you’ll:
Pick and pack daily orders
Assist with dispatch and receivables
Help with cycle counts, receiving's and container unloading when needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
You will work alongside our Warehouse Supervisor and assist with system/admin tasks when required. Every day is a little different — so if you like variety, this job will keep you busy.
About You
You’re someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys variety in your day-to-day tasks. You take pride in being hands-on and proactive, whether it’s pick-packing, order dispatch, stocktaking, or assisting with loading and unloading containers when needed. You’re also comfortable with system-enabled admin duties and understand the importance of accuracy and efficiency and work alongside the Warehouse Supervisor. No two days are the same in this role—so if you like to stay busy and be part of a supportive team, this is the job for you!
To be successful, you’ll need:
A valid forklift licence (mandatory)
Hands-on assembly or manufacturing experience
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Ability to read and understand BOMs or basic technical drawings
Physically fit and capable of manual handling
Strong attention to detail and a solid safety mindset
Reliable and punctual – this is key in a small team environment
Basic to intermediate computer skills
Able to work independently and unsupervised
