About the role

CPM Engineering Qld is seeking a Qualified Maintenance Fitter, Turner & Machinist to join our team in Gympie, Queensland. This full-time position is a crucial role within our growing engineering company, responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment.

What you'll be doing

Perform general and preventative maintenance on a variety of production machinery and equipment

Carry out repairs, adjustments and modifications to machinery as needed

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, identifying the root cause and implementing effective solutions

Assist in the assembly of equipment and fabricated products prior to dispatch to our clients.

Operate a range of machinery and tools, including lathes, mills, grinders and welding equipment

Fabricate and manufacture replacement parts as required

Contribute to the implementation of maintenance strategies and best practices

Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities

Ensure a safe work environment by following all health and safety procedures

What we're looking for

Formal trade qualification as a Fitter, Turner or Machinist, with 5+ years of relevant experience

Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment

Proficient in the operation of a wide range of machinery, tools and equipment

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders

Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to different sites as required
