Exciting things are happening at Xpress Freight Management —and we are looking for an Operations Leading Hand to join our AM team at our Forrestfield depot. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of inbound logistics activities. You will be primarily responsible for overseeing safety, compliance, service outcomes, as well as ensuring safe loading and scanning procedures are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the loading and unloading of freight, ensuring proper handling techniques and equipment utilisation.
Implement scanning procedures to accurately track and trace freight throughout the inbound process.
Address any discrepancies or issues related to loading, scanning, or documentation promptly to prevent delays or errors.
Monitor and evaluate inbound logistics performance metrics, including on-time delivery, transit times, and customer satisfaction levels.
Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance service quality and efficiency.
Foster positive relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks within the outbound operations.
Provide continuous safety training and coaching to the inbound team members to promote a safety-first culture.
Key qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience in a leadership role within the freight transportation or logistics industry.
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices in freight logistics.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with team members, customers, and stakeholders.
Proficiency in using logistics management software and technology for tracking, reporting, and analysing outbound operations.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving operational challenges.
All candidates will be subject to a Drug and Alcohol testing.
All candidates will need to supply a current Police Check.
