About the role:

We are seeking a senior risk and safety leader to drive enterprise-wide risk management and workplace health and safety strategy across our diverse operations. As the Head of Risk and Safety, you’ll shape and embed a proactive risk culture, oversee probity and business continuity functions, and lead an integrated WHS approach focused on psychosocial wellbeing, compliance, and operational resilience.

Working closely with executives, this role is pivotal in building safe, ethical, and transparent operations across MMP’s eight memorial parks. If you bring deep experience in enterprise risk, WHS leadership, fraud and corruption frameworks, and strategic advisory to executive and board level, this is your opportunity to leave a lasting legacy of safety, integrity, and community trust.

Key responsibilities:

Design, implement, and embed MMP’s enterprise risk and WHS strategies, planning and operational decisions.

Provide high-level advice to executive and board committees on risks and resilience.

Drive compliance with WHS legislation, psychosocial safety, and wellbeing programs.

Oversee business continuity, probity, fraud control, and incident response frameworks.

Build risk capability across the business and lead a high-performing risk/WHS team.

Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary risk and WHS team.

Essential requirements:

Tertiary qualifications in risk management, WHS, business, law, or related discipline (postgraduate qualifications and professional certifications highly regarded).

Minimum 10 years' experience in enterprise risk and/or WHS leadership roles, ideally within complex, regulated environments.

Demonstrated experience in:

Leading integrated risk, WHS, and resilience frameworks.

Supporting probity, fraud and corruption control.

Strategic advisory at executive/board level.

Building and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements including psychosocial risk and wellbeing obligations.
