Clarity Partners is partnering with a dynamic, growth-focused Australian gold producer seeking an experienced Mine Engineer to support the success of a new underground start-up project. About the Role:
This position offers the opportunity to work on an underground start-up project and contribute from day one. As Mine Engineer, you’ll play a key role in mine planning, design, and daily operations—working closely with a collaborative team that’s building the mine from the ground up. It’s a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to make a real impact.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement short- to medium-term mine plans and schedules to meet production targets.
• Design and optimise underground infrastructure, including development headings, stopes, and ventilation systems.
• Collaborate with geology, survey, and operations teams to ensure accurate execution of mine designs.
• Monitor daily production metrics, analyse variances, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, conducting regular risk assessments.
• Utilise mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Surpac) for design and scheduling tasks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on cost reduction and operational excellence.
• Participate in the commissioning of new equipment and systems, providing technical support as needed.
• Assist in mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation to support operational decisions and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline (accredited).
• 2–3 years’ experience in underground mine engineering, preferably within Australian mining operations.
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Surpac, or Vulcan.
• Solid understanding of underground mine design, scheduling, and production principles.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and familiarity with Australian mining regulations.
• Certificate III in Underground Metalliferous Mining, or currently working toward completion.
• Progress toward RPEng or CPEng accreditation is highly regarded.
