A Family Day Care (FDC) Educator provides high-quality early childhood education and care from their own home or venue. Educators work in partnership with families, children, and the Family Day Care service, Thrive Group, to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports each child’s learning and development.
About the Family Day Care service
Located in the picturesque township of Spreyton, just outside of Devonport, Abracadabra Family Day Care service has been providing quality education and care for over 20 years. Abracadabra seeks to recruit a relief FDC Educator to work full time for 2 months, covering leave. This role comes with the option of ongoing work beyond the 2-month contract, and flexible rostering for the right candidate.
As an established FDC service, Abracadabra is fully resourced and fully booked, the successful candidate will be able to begin work with the knowledge that the FDC is set up, compliant and ready to operate from day one.

About you
The successful candidate will have
Minimum Qualification:
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
Mandatory Requirements:
Current Working with Vulnerable People Check
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training
Completion of Child Protection Training, Safe food handling (free course), Safe Sleep training.

FDC Educators are supported by Thrive Group through:
Ongoing training and professional development
Regular visits, mentoring, and compliance support
Networking opportunities with other educators
Registration with Tasmania’s oldest FDC service
