About the role
We are seeking Full time Laboratory Manager/Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our dedicated team within Ballarat, Victoria.
This opportunity requires the appointment of a suitably qualified and experienced Scientist to the role of Laboratory Manager to manage the hospital pathology service. Your role will be to participate in the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, working as part of a dedicated team. Duties include general (Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology and Transfusion) work, maintenance of instrumentation and equipment and compliance with accreditation and quality assurance requirements. The preferred applicants will be flexible, punctual, self-motivated, display initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Science or an AIMS accredited equivalent as a minimum.
A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a multidisciplinary pathology laboratory
Relevant experience and qualification in specialised discipline (Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion).
High attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to multitask and successfully work as part of a team.
Exceptional communication, time management & organisational skills.
Strong time management, organisational and interpersonal skills
Experience rostering, purchasing, reviewing quality operations, managing performance, completing management reports, and leading laboratory meetings will be highly regarded.
The ability to contribute towards the delivery of customer focused services.
Have own transport and be able to take part in weekend and evening rosters including public holidays.
