About Our Client
Our client, a globally recognised mining and resource company, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bulk Sample Preparation Operator to join their Adelaide-based team. This is a hands-on, plant-based role ideal for someone with experience in laboratory sampling or manufacturing, preferably holding a current forklift licence. The role involves preparing large and small-scale mineral bulk samples, ensuring accuracy, cleanliness, and efficiency.
About the Role
This position is suited for an operations-focused individual who thrives in a repetitive, process-driven environment. Working alongside one other team member, you will manage multiple batches of samples while maintaining equipment hygiene to prevent contamination. This is not a graduate or research-focused role; instead, it involves physical work with minimal computer tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process mineral samples using large and small-scale testing equipment
Operate within Rio Tinto procedures and safety guidelines
Clean and maintain equipment to avoid cross-contamination
Work independently and in shared spaces, following strict procedures
Accurately record and match sample numbers
Perform regular checking and cross-checking of samples
Work on multiple sample batches simultaneously
Consistently deliver work within designated timeframes
Skills and Experience Required
1–2 years of experience in operations, lab tech, or manufacturing roles
High attention to detail and ability to follow set procedures
Certificate IV desirable but not essential
Current forklift licence highly regarded (not essential)
Ability to work in a repetitive environment with a focus on consistency and quality
Comfortable with early starts (7 AM) but flexible on hours
Physically fit and capable of working in a hands-on role
