The Role
As the Teaching and Learning Advisor in the Early Years and Primary team, you'll lead and implement strategies to enhance student outcomes, leveraging your expertise in curriculum, teaching, and assessment to provide advice, professional learning, and develop resources.
Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) offers culturally responsive support to early childhood settings and schools, enhancing outcomes for Territory children. TLS provides quality teaching and learning services, transition support, policy coordination, and strategic implementation of government priorities, while advising senior executives and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Improving numeracy outcomes is a priority and we strive to be innovative and strategic in our approaches to optimise engagement with schools within and across the six regions in the NT.
About you
You’re an education leader who thrives on collaboration, innovation and wants to make a Territory-wide impact. To be successful in this role you’ll need to have:
A sound understanding of the Australian Curriculum with a focus in Mathematics, numeracy and integrated learning approaches for primary years (Transition to Year 6) with local application.
Proven experience in coordinating or leading, and completing, school improvement projects in primary school contexts
Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring to implement evidence-based, differentiated approaches in primary school contexts.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in and across teams to achieve agreed outcomes.
High level of interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and cross-cultural skills, to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders in urban and remote school contexts.
Experience in developing, leading, and evaluating professional learning for curriculum delivery, pedagogy, and assessment in the primary years.
