About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Director to join our established team in our Burpengary service. The role of an Assistant Director is a busy and varied one. With a strong focus on being hands on with the team in a coaching and mentoring capacity. The successful candidate will assist the Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the centre, including ensuring that the centre meets all legal and regulatory requirements, providing high-quality care and education to children, managing staff, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, and the team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director in managing all aspects of the childcare centre, including staffing, budgeting, curriculum planning, and program development.
Supervise and provide ongoing support and training to staff, ensuring that they meet all legal and regulatory requirements and provide high-quality care and education to children.
Updating and managing the service Inclusion Support Portal and claims. Working with the rooms on support plans and inclusion strategies.
Implement policies and procedures that promote a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.
Build positive relationships with families and the community, and act as a liaison between the centre and outside agencies and organizations.
Support the team on the floor in times of need.
Support the Educational Leader to implement the educational program.
About you:
ACECQA Approved Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
2 years experience in a similar role
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to provide high-quality care and education to children.
Current Working with Children Check
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with families and the community.
Strong Knowledge and experience of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS)
Strong computer skills
Current approved First Aid Certificate
Current approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
Experience with OWNA an advantage
