An exciting opportunity exists for a Capital Project Officer supporting our schools in the Northern Territory. The position is based at the Catholic Education Office, Berrimah.
The Organisation:

Catholic Education has a network of 18 Catholic schools in the Northern Territory - five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre and five remote schools.
The Position:
The Capital Project Officer is part of a small team of three and is responsible for the delivery and management of capital infrastructure projects, procurements, contract management and documentation under the supervision of the Infrastructure Manager. The role collaborates with school facility managers, CEO staff, Principals and external stakeholders and contractors on a daily basis. It is a dynamic role that involves travel, site visits and project management administration in the head office.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in all activities where requested required, including R&M and capital works, at schools and at the Catholic Education office (CEO).
Implementation of policies and procedures concerning asset and facilities management at schools and at the CEO.
Manage construction projects end to end as assigned by the Infrastructure Manager.
Manage external/internal contractors.
Record keeping and asset data management.
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Asset Management System (AMS) at both our indigenous catholic communities’ schools (ICCS) and urban schools.
Ensure WHS policies and procedures are implemented, enforced and reviewed.

Essential Criteria:
Demonstrated experience in capital works related project management.
Construction Trade qualified.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in particular relating to technical aspects of building works. Ability to liaise and converse with people from different and diverse disciplines/backgrounds.
Ability to travel and reside in remote Indigenous communities in the NT for short periods of time.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
Demonstrated knowledge of WHS practices and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of construction documentation/drawings.
Excellent track record in meeting deadlines and responding in a timely manner.
An organised approach to manage large amounts of detailed information with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
Tertiary qualifications in project management, or substantial relevant practical experience, in a similar role.
Current NT Driver’s License.
Current NT Police issue of the Working with Children card – Ochre Card.
