The Role

• Well known insurance client is after a Data Engineering Lead / Manager to lead their strategic and technical development of their Azure Data Platform(s);
• Permanent - $230k Including Super; and
• Must have: 4+ years on Azure and 18 months + Synapse.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for the overall Azure data platform architecture design, data modelling, gathering and analysis of data requirements; understand document, communicate and build appropriate solutions;
• Lead internal and external engineering teams to build products and/or infrastructure required to support scalable data products, providing effective guidance for analysis, design, programming, and testing skills;
• Accountable for the delivery of robust data pipelines and data transformations across the data platform, including data reconciliation, metadata management, platform monitoring;
• Work with the broad Data team to produce complete lineage mappings for data products;
• Provide oversight in the development of automated test cases; and
• Foster, initiate and drive coaching sessions with the data engineers to build a high performing, collaborative, transparent, and result-driven data engineering team.

About You

• 5 years of management / lead experience;
• 10+ years of experience in design, build and support of data engineering pipelines in the data warehousing, BI analytics, and/or ML space;
• Must have: 4+ years on Azure and 18 months + Synapse;
• Related certifications are preferable (e.g., Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer Associate); and
• Strong software engineering, SQL, and coding skills in data intensive environments (transactional and columnar databases).
