Grade 2 Speech Pathologist
Position Type: Ongoing & Fixed-term, Parental Leave Cover
Hours: 32 hours per fortnight Ongoing, 32 hours per fortnight fixed term
Working Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, weekdays (with negotiable days based on availability)
Classification: Grade 2 Speech Pathologist, as per the Allied Health Professionals EBA, $74,499 – $85,634/annum dependent on experience
Are you an experienced Speech Pathologist looking to make a meaningful difference in patient care?
Mildura Base Public Hospital is seeking a dedicated and motivated Grade 2 Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic Allied Health team.
This role will be responsible for providing high-quality services across both acute and sub-acute settings, with a focus on outpatient services and, where necessary, inpatient services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive speech pathology assessments and interventions for outpatient and inpatient clients.
Assist in the supervision and direction of Grade 1 Speech Pathologists, students, and allied health assistants.
Contribute to service development and delivery in line with organisational goals.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, liaising with staff and community agencies to ensure continuity of care.
Lead clinical roles for designated case types, ensuring evidence-based practices and quality patient care.
Participate in clinical and non-clinical duties, including service planning, communication, and professional development.
Key Selection Criteria:
Essential:
A Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification.
Evidence of eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
Proven experience and clinical competence as a Grade 2 Speech Pathologist.
Desirable:
Flexibility and adaptability in both autonomous and team-based environments.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Initiative and creativity in the provision of speech pathology services.
Commitment to continuous quality improvement and meeting deadlines.
