About You

The Service Area Manager leads and oversees Local Area Coordination (LAC) teams, including Team Leaders and Information team members, who provide NDIS services to support people with disabilities and their families. They ensure teams help clients access and navigate the NDIS, develop and review plans, and connect with community supports focused on individual capacity building.

Supported by the Operations Manager and working closely with Performance and Quality teams, the Service Area Manager monitors performance, drives quality outcomes, and ensures services align with NDIS best practices. They ensure services are community-based and responsive to local needs while managing daily operations, addressing complaints, incidents, and workplace safety, and supporting teams to deliver high-quality coordination activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, operational management, and professional development to LAC teams within the designated service area.
  • Lead LAC teams within the designated service area in delivering all areas of LAC program operations and objectives, focusing on individual capacity building and including contributing to community capacity building projects and outcomes.
  • Demonstrate autonomy, professionalism, confidentiality, and adopt a high level of ethical and professional standards.
  • Ensure incidents and risks and feedback is managed and responded to in accordance with policies and procedures, including adherence to NDIS Quality and Safeguards commission requirements and ensure opportunities for improvement are identified and actioned.
  • Navigate the business systems whilst ensuring effective workload management of the team in ensuring contractual performance KPIs and quality standards are met or exceeded.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualification/s in relevant area (e.g. Psychology, Social Work etc.) with equivalent experience working with people with complex needs
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing programs and teams in a human service context (e.g. disability, child services, allied health, social work, community development, education).
  • Strong working knowledge of contemporary approaches to disability service provision.
  • Experience in leading teams and/or strong working knowledge of operational requirements of the Partners in the Community Local Area Coordination Program.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours and in a range of locations across areas and regions as required.
