About the role
State Asphalts NSW Pty Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Trainee Laboratory Technician to join our technical teams working within our NATA-accredited laboratories. You will play a crucial part in supporting our laboratory operations and contributing to the overall success of our company.
What you'll be doing
Assisting with a range of laboratory testing procedures related to the analysis of asphalt and other construction materials
Accurately recording and documenting test results
Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring a clean, organised work environment
Providing support to the senior laboratory technicians as required
Developing an understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations
Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
What we're looking for
A keen interest in the field of laboratory and technical services
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in your work
Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
A willingness to learn and the ability to follow instructions
Previous experience in a laboratory or technical role is desirable but not essential
Available to work shift work as you may be rostered on day shift or night shift.
Ability to travel to regional areas if required to participate in a rotating regional roster for project works.

As a Trainee Laboratory Technician, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and mentorship from our experienced team and support through a formal traineeship in Materials Testing. Upon completion of the traineeship, the candidate will obtain both laboratory experience and a Certificate IV in Laboratory Skills.
A generous remuneration package will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with qualification or experience, with regular overtime available and allowances for regional work.
