Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 3 Allied Health Assistants to join the Hand Therapy team based at Northern Hospital Epping and Craigieburn Centre.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About the Role:
This AHA role is responsible for providing quality patient care under the supervision of an Allied Health professional within the hand therapy department. To carry out patient related support activities that promote patient centred care, improve patient flow, and facilitate the timely safe, effective discharge of Hand Therapy patients. The role will include the provision of individual and potentially group-based therapy to hand therapy patients. The role will also include undertaking of administrative tasks such as ordering, stock review, cleaning and maintenance of equipment. This position is based at both Epping and Craigieburn campuses.
This position is fixed term full time until March 2026.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience as an AHA in the public hospital setting
- Proven ability to learn on the job quickly
- Demonstrated interest in working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in hand therapy settings preferred but not essential.
- Well-developed communication skills
