Located in Sydney NSW, BMA Energy provides servicing, parts, operation and maintenance as well as engineering & design along with project management and technical support for reciprocating gas engines & power generation plants.

About the role

We are seeking experienced, highly motivated mechanical fitter to join the team for various field service & maintenance works within the gas & power industry. The role will involve fitting and assembling engine & plant parts and subassemblies for machines and other equipment, as well as servicing, maintenance & overhauling of large gas engines & power station equipment within Australia. The right candidate must be able to travel Interstate on a frequent basis when required.

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Jenbacher and Waukesha gas engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs, ensuring the optimal performance of these engines in a variety of operational settings.

Experience with Jenbacher, Waukesha & Caterpillar engines & associated plant equipment is desired.

Skills and experience

Trade qualifications with at least two years' experience post qualification

Willingness to travel for service calls as needed

Type-B Gas qualification / Licence would be an advantage

Electrical licence or NREL licence would be an advantage.

Computer skills & knowledge, Word, Excel, Outlook, engine software etc.

Experience working on large gas engines such as Jenbacher, Waukesha & Caterpillar, MWM with a focus on both mechanical and electrical systems.

Electrical licence or NREL licence would be an advantage.

Ability to read schematics & P&ID drawings

Ability to studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Familiarity with relevant safety standards and best practices.
