About This Opportunity
We are seeking a senior academic leader for a Professorial position in Clinical Pharmacy. This pivotal role offers the chance to contribute senior leadership to education and research in clinical pharmacy.
The successful candidate demonstrates a well-rounded record of excellence across teaching, research and high-level government/industry engagement, with the ability to secure competitive grant funding.
Applicants with experience in clinical pharmacy practice in any setting (including hospital, community, primary care, and aged care) are encouraged to apply. Expertise in improving quality use of medicines is expected with research that influences professional practice and policy.
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences sits within the newly formed UQ Dutton Park campus, which is part of the newly constituted Boggo Road Innovation Precinct with links to industry, a major primary health facility and resources to support clinical trial initiatives. The school has a broad range of program offerings, a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) program, postgraduate programs in clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice, a suite of offerings in pharmaceutical industry practice, and research higher degree studies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counseling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
- Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
- Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You
You are an accomplished academic in Clinical Pharmacy with
- PhD in Pharmacy or relevant discipline
- Proven track record of excellence and leadership in university-level teaching, curriculum design, and pedagogical innovation, especially within clinical pharmacy contexts.
- Distinguished record of leadership roles in quality clinical teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and/or professional entry level.
- An established record of course coordination and in leading the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.
- Outstanding reputation and international profile in Clinical Pharmacy, Quality use of Medicines and/or Pharmacy Practice based research, demonstrated through high-impact publications, citations, and grant success.
- Maintained success in attracting significant competitive research funding as lead investigator.
- Exceptional record as a Principal Supervisor, guiding HDR students to successful and timely completion.
- Evidenced leadership capabilities within an academic or professional setting.
- Outstanding record of meaningful internal leadership roles in conjunction with a high level of leadership in external activities fostering links within the profession and relevant specialty, including substantial roles on advisory committees at a national and international level.
- Strong record of impactful engagement with government, industry, health services, and/or professional bodies.
- A registered pharmacist with the potential for being registered under APHRA.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check and AHPRA registration.
