About the role

FTA Insurance is seeking a highly motivated Financial Lines Claims Officer to join our dynamic team in our Melbourne office. This full-time role will be responsible for handling a diverse National portfolio of not just Financial Lines (Professional Indemnity and Management Liability) insurance claims but also overseeing stand alone General Liability claims and Cyber claims. You will also provide exceptional customer service and ensure efficient and effective claims management.

What you'll be doing

Manage a caseload of complex financial lines insurance claims, including professional indemnity, directors and officers, general liability and cyber liability

Investigate claims, gather relevant information, and make timely and well-reasoned coverage decisions

Communicate with insureds, brokers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve claims in a professional and courteous manner

Instruct lawyers and loss adjusters as necessary and then manage the claim via them

Maintain detailed and accurate records of all claims-related activities

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance claims handling efficiency and customer experience

Collaborate with the underwriting teams to provide feedback and insights

What we're looking for

Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a financial lines claims role, preferably in the insurance industry

Strong understanding of financial lines insurance products and coverage

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound coverage decisions

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with a variety of stakeholders

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities

Relevant tertiary qualifications in insurance, law, or a related field are highly desirable
