About the role

Our new programme, Pathways to Safety and Support provides effective intervention and support to children, young people and their families, with problematic and harmful sexual behaviours (PHSB) by linking them with targeted and coordinated supports.

Duties

  • Provide tailored support and advocacy to children, young people, and families regarding problematic and harmful sexual behaviours (PHSB), using a strengths-based, person-centred approach.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, and review safety and support plans that address both strengths and areas of risk.
  • Coordinate wrap-around support by working closely with government departments, schools, health services, and community agencies to raise awareness and deliver integrated services.
  • Build strong, culturally safe relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse clients and communities to ensure inclusive and respectful practice.
  • Identify and respond to risks, including escalating concerns and making child protection reports where necessary.

Skills and Experience

As a Case Manager within our Pathways Team, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of problematic and harmful sexual behaviours (PHSB) in children and young people, including associated risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting children, young people, and families, particularly in child protection or similar settings.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and case planning skills, with a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.
  • Cultural competence and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and other diverse groups.
  • Current driver’s license.
