Systems Engineer – Defence & Government Projects
Location: Canberra (Hybrid)
Clearance: Must hold AGSVA Baseline (or higher)

Overview:
N20 Consulting is seeking a capable and adaptable Systems Engineer to support ongoing engineering efforts across high-impact government programs. We have multiple opportunities available with key clients in the Defence and national security sectors, focused on the assurance, delivery, and evaluation of complex technical systems.

These roles are suited to engineers with strong systems thinking, a detail-oriented mindset, and a desire to contribute to nationally significant outcomes in structured, multidisciplinary environments.

Key Responsibilities

Role specifics will depend on project alignment, but responsibilities may include:

Supporting the assurance, evaluation, and integration of technical systems within established engineering frameworks.

Reviewing technical documentation, plans, and specifications across various lifecycle stages.

Engaging with client and stakeholder teams to support system delivery, testing, or governance functions.

Participating in formal review processes, technical discussions, and internal coordination activities.

Contributing to planning and documentation processes to support quality, traceability, and compliance.

Required Experience

Experience working on complex engineering projects within Defence, government, or critical infrastructure environments.

Familiarity with structured systems engineering, verification and validation, or acquisition support processes.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse technical and project stakeholders.

Proficiency with standard engineering documentation, tools, and quality processes.

Desirable Experience

Exposure to areas such as communications systems, navigation technologies, or test environments.

Understanding of government acquisition lifecycles or systems assurance methodologies.

Experience working within structured laboratory or field-based technical settings.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Engineering.

AGSVA security clearance (Baseline or higher).

Additional certifications in Systems Engineering or Test & Evaluation are beneficial.
